I've lived in Japan for around 2 years now and my father lives in England, between us we make up the japanimport team. I take care of the Japan side, he takes care of the UK side, as a result we can offer you a complete service concentrating our efforts individually on the country specific details that are required.

By all means import a car yourself, in fact for the average person seeking to minimise their budget I recommend it, you will save yourself £500 which is our fee per vehicle, we exist for those people who don't have the time to arrange all the paperwork and port trips etc etc.  Time is money!

Our supply chain....

Our Japanese engineers can check and verify the quality of any car you see here on the USS website (see "auctions" link above).  We can translate auction grade sheets and monitor pricing trends and the Japanese market, we can offer a Japanese bank account into which you can pay for the vehicles in £ sterling (GBP). We can complete all Japanese procedures for customs clearance, de registration and pre check vehicles on a rolling road prior to departure, if something's not quite right with the vehicle it goes back to the auction.

We can arrange transportation within Japan from auction to our testing facility and from there to port.  We aim to provide the most reliable and consistent service in the industry, this is business after all and good reputations breed success...

We don't have a multitude of forecourts in cities across the UK and this brings down our overheads.  We want to provide a service to individuals looking for a specific choice of vehicle, but also want individuals or businesses to use us as a sourcing agency.  In the past we have formed relationships with individuals or businesses with space where people can look at, test drive, and decide whether or not to purchase these vehicles, we can supply, but our sales are limited by geographical locations, essentially we need partners across the country with a parking space / forecourt space with which to market our vehicles. We are limited only by our UK sales, can you be part of our business?

 ....What we do best is find quality cars here in Japan, get them on a boat (to anywhere in the world if required), but specifically to the UK (as that's what we know best), pass them through European/UK regulatory tests (ESVA/MOT) register them in the UK and have them available to the public. ....there are so many inexpensive quality cars being run through these auctions every week....the timing for this business, right now, is superb....the pound is so strong against the yen it's happy days for importing....

.....just compare auto trader in the UK with the USS auctions in Japan and on choice alone you should be sold...don't be scared...we're from England too, if you are apprehensive about buying a car you can't physically "touch" we understand....who wouldn't be, risk however means profit, and unhappy customers means bad reputation.  To be honest, if you're not happy with the vehicle you have imported, you can always sell it, or we would be happy to sell it on your behalf.  We like to think all the cars we import to have a good profit potential. 

Additionally as a UK based limited company we can offer all the security and protection of the British legal system and the guarantees that this brings in terms of international financial transactions and areas where you may have concerns or doubts. 

We know a lot of you want sports cars for yourselves and we can do that, no problem, perhaps your a bit short of your budget for your ideal car? Why not try and sell a few cars until you can afford to buy the one you want for yourself? It's how we started!

The pound sterling is at an all time high against the Japanese Yen thanks to UK inflation and the BOE having to hike rates to 5.5% now at 245 yen to the pound! (June 2007) 2 years ago....well.....5 years ago as well to be honest, it was 190 yen to the pound and over that time period people have imported loads of vehicles to the UK and still profited handsomely. That's a 25% increase in profits from the shift in currency alone. Where the UK's inflation is coming from we don't know, but it's not from imported Japanese cars obviously!

It's a fantastic time for importers right now, an unbelievable opportunity to take advantage of.  Don't take our word for it though ...search the web yourself....see if you agree!
